CaptainSpam's bonus doodles
October 2003
(turn on word wrap now if you can)
---------------------------

The second month's worth of notebook doodles. This month saw fit to introduce a new character I want to make a comic around, a few drawing practices, plus a few varied and bizzare things that just popped into my mind.

---------------------------

20031001Bazookas.jpg: Two bazookas. One from the Worms universe, one a bit more realistic. Not by much.

20031002VitaminCMackFullyArmed.jpg: Boxcutter blade and pricegun. Mack's armed for battle.

20031003FallingMinibus.jpg: I had this idea for a company in an RPG, Falling Minibus, Inc. It'd be the general transportation method for the world the game takes place in. I'm weird like that.

20031004SpamFlight.jpg: Captain Spam, flying!

20031005SpamRocket.jpg: This can't be good. I do like drawing overly silly objects that can be explained in one panel or one drawing. Which is probably why I like Sam & Max.

20031006IGotNothing.jpg: The doodle I used for a while if I had no doodle for the day. Yes, that's supposed to be the Space Channel 5 logo on my shirt this time.

20031008DoMSalthCharacterPosePlan.jpg: Initial plan for Salth's character pic pose. I'll have to draw this someday.

20031009DoMPhilCharacterPosePlan.jpg: Initial plan for Phil's character pic pose. Which, yes, isn't very much different from his normal pose.

20031010BazookaGirl.jpg: The first Tracy Mordel (formerly Bazooka Girl) pic. I'm actually really damn proud of this one. Someone in my CSE450 class saw this doodle in my actual notes and said she looked cute. Now, to plan a comic around her...

20031011Trogdor.jpg: By popular demand. Maybe he was a dragon-man...

20031012Bowling.jpg: Bowling ball. Bowling pin. I was REALLY bored and tired.

20031013IdNasalFlyMrSaturn.jpg: So, I started drawing a Nasal Fly. Then I drew a Mr. Saturn. Then I realized how similar a Mr. Saturn was to Id from 8 O'Clock Classes.

20031014VitaminCActionMack.jpg: See, Mack is one of the very few "action" characters I have. Here he is going all pricegun over something.

20031015BeanManResultantForce.jpg: BEAN MAN has a resultant force acting upon him! I was REALLY tired when I did this one.

20031016DoMArtistSleep.jpg: See? Really tired.

20031017BazookaGirlThrow.jpg: Test pic 2 of Tracy Mordel. Damn, but she's fun to draw.

20031018DoMCreativeGardening.jpg: More creative uses for plant-growing gardening spells. Yes, those are arrows that're impacting on the tree.

20031019DoMDangleSlash.jpg: I got the proportions horribly wrong, but this is Matt dangling from a beam, cutting a rope.

20031021VitaminCFredAccordion.jpg: POLKA! POLKA! POLKA! The accordion's one of my favorite instruments to draw. And Fred's perfect for the job.

20031022DoMRandomMage.jpg: A random mage.

20031023BazookaGirlTracyLeapKick.jpg: Tracy leaps over a wall and delivers a kick downward. Yes, I screwed up the legs.

20031024DoMBarByPorts.jpg: This bar by the ports will come in handy for a later plot.

20031025SlingshottingBriefs.jpg: You just can't come up with wordplay like this when you're fully awake. No siree.

20031026DoMBarWenchVersion1.jpg: So I was sitting and thinking to myself, "You know what I'm missing in the DoM? Bar wenches!" I then realized I hadn't yet come across a bar big enough to support bar wenches (it's a matter of having the income to hire them, as well as a general need), but I will later.

20031028DoMFemaleEyebrows.jpg: As some of you may notice, I draw eyes a bit oddly in the DoM. All male eyes use a semicircle as their base shape (distorted to proper expression) and single-line eyebrows to assist. All female eyes are more teardrop-shaped, but with far more distortion to assist in expression. Well, after drawing the bar wench, I realized that making female eyebrows may help for some characters. And viola.

20031029TroubleBrewing.jpg: Something tells me this won't end happy.

20031030DoMHowardMageUniform.jpg: Howard sporting prototype 1 of the Landis Royal Army mage uniform.

20031031MadScientist.jpg: Happy Halloween! Here's a mad scientist.

Some notes:

Id comes from 8 O'Clock Classes, at <http://www.8oclockclasses.com>.

Fred's another character from Vitamin C. He's the normal guy.

Bean Man is just Bean Man.

All these doodles are copyright 2003 Nicholas "CaptainSpam" Killewald. Some of the characters are not. Those are noted in the notes.

Spam out.
